Where we deliver and collect across Central Virginia

Blue Ridge Shipping Solutions covers twelve counties, from the Blue Ridge in the west to the edge of Richmond in the east. Runs are planned by route rather than on fixed delivery days, which is what lets us take one pallet to a small shop and a full truckload to a warehouse on the same journey.

No minimum order. One pallet or a full truckload, anywhere in the service area.

The twelve counties

Albemarle, Louisa, Orange, Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson, Culpeper, Madison, Goochland, Hanover, Augusta and western Henrico. We would rather serve that area properly than claim a map we cannot cover, so if you are just outside it, ask — the answer depends on the route more than the line on the map.

Local detail by area

Charlottesville and Albemarle County

Under twenty miles from us to the south-east industrial side of the city, and a little under thirty to the Rio Road and Seminole Trail end of town. Short enough that a delivery here does not need a trip of its own.

Louisa, Mineral, Lake Anna and Zion Crossroads

The closest part of the service area, and the one place where distance is simply not a factor. Mineral is a few minutes away and Lake Anna a straightforward run north-east.

Gordonsville, Orange and Zion Crossroads

About fifteen miles out — one of the shortest runs we make, and a corridor we work most weeks.

Fluvanna County, Palmyra and Troy

Troy sits within a few miles of us, close enough that several of the businesses we serve there are a short drive rather than a run. Palmyra is about twenty miles.

Culpeper and Madison

The northern edge of the service area, roughly forty-five miles out up the Route 15 and Route 29 corridors. Scheduled around route density rather than on demand.

Goochland, Short Pump, Glen Allen and Ashland

Goochland is about thirty-five miles down the I-64 corridor; Short Pump, Glen Allen and Ashland run from there out to about fifty. We work this direction regularly on scheduled runs.

Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta County

About fifty-five miles to Waynesboro over the mountain on I-64 and around sixty-five to Staunton. The longest regular journey we make, and it works best when there is a reason for the truck to be there.

Counties without a page of their own

Greene, Nelson, Hanover and western Henrico are covered on exactly the same terms — we simply have not written a page for them yet. Call and tell us where you are.

What moves on these routes

Recycled and new pallets in standard 48x40 GMA, the less common footprints and custom sizes built to your dimension. Free pickup of surplus, unwanted and damaged pallets, with large reusable volumes bought outright. And IBC totes, drums, gaylord boxes, crates and cable reels, recovered and new.

Most customers end up combining a delivery and a collection on one visit, which saves everyone a journey and is the single easiest way to keep the cost down.

How scheduling works

Because runs are planned by route, most customers see delivery within the week, sooner on the corridors we travel most often, and planned into a scheduled run at the edges of the service area. If a small pickup at the far end of the area would need a trip of its own, we will say so and suggest waiting until the load justifies it rather than agreeing and then not turning up.
